MLK Weekend Camping

The first camping trip of 2022. I had a 3-day weekend for MLK day, but the calendar had something on it for Saturday night. Saturday also had 20+ mph winds - NOT good towing conditions. Sunday morning looked like it might be good for the rest of the holiday and I found a spot open at Bastrop State Park and I reserved it. Packed up and headed out by 12:30 pm. It's nice having most everything I need already in the camper. It was scary though…the very next day after I go home, there was a "controlled" burn that got out of control and burned over 700 acres. 200+ families had to be evacuated and park was closed. Hopefully things will be back open soon.

• A little shade in the afternoon
• A couple tall Loblolly Pines still stand at this site
