Weekend at the Coast

I went to Galveston a few days before Easter to hookup with some of the Crew from Today Is Someday before they headed out on the cruise and to visit friends in Santa Fe and try out a new dancehall before heading home for Easter. It was a solo trip and was my first trip to a KOA park. I much prefer "Campgrounds" to "RV Parks", but this was a pleasant experience.

๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ Highlights of this trip๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ‘€ Things I saw: Bluebonnets, big waves from stiff winds, beach, friends-new and old

๐Ÿฆ Wildlife I encountered: Shore birds

๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿป‍♀️Trails I walked: Stopped at the Nature Trail just before the campground and walked the boardwalk on the way in. It was very windy and there were big waves. The Gulf was not happy. In the mornings, no specific trail, but I walked along the beach across from the RV park. I love having coffee on my morning walk. It's a nice quiet time with Jesus. ☕

๐Ÿ›’ Where I shopped: Murdoch's Gift Shop. It's a favorite stop to shop and hang out on the breezeway with a cold adult beverage. ๐Ÿน

๐Ÿฝ Where I ate: Snacks and drinks with fellow Crew members and RVers at the KOA. It was nice just hanging out at the RV park. Loved the smoked cheese! Lunch at The Spot was good food and right on the seawall. Dinner at Texas Tail Distillery with Phil & Stacy's Today Is Someday's Crew was relaxing. Gringo's Tex Mex in Texas City with friends after I left Galveston. Just ONE more chip....

๐Ÿ‘ข Dances I attended: Donice Morace at High Horse Saloon in Texas City. Huge place, but the music was too loud. It would sound great if they turned it down a notch. One small and one large dancefloor. Pool tables.

๐Ÿ“š What I learned: SLOW down in Jamaica Beach and be very aware where the speed limits are. Attended a talk at the KOA about Rving in Alaska (complete with coffee and donuts). Good tips.

๐Ÿ˜Š A relaxing moment: Sitting in the hot tub (with my incision from port removal above the water line)

๐Ÿ˜ฎ A surprising moment: The beaches were practically empty in the mornings. A nice 20¢ off per gallon special at Valero.

๐Ÿ™ƒ An unforeseeable moment:  Noticed some water dripping under the camper. A little investigative work showed the drain line under the sink had come loose. I put it back together and so far, so good. Got stopped for speeding through Jamaica Beach. Speed Limit is only 35 for a short bit (and I think I was well past that area, but that's another story).

๐Ÿ›️ My favorite souvenir:  A beach mobile that I have been eyeing the last few trips to Galveston ๐Ÿ’™
