๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ Highlights of this trip๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Why I went: J5 Memorial Day Celebration / Add another State Park to my books and map

๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป Who I went with: Dance group and more / alone

๐Ÿ‘ข Dances I attended: Rocky King Band, Jake & Tommy Hooker, Landon Dodd, Jeff Woolsey at J5 Pasture Palace. Fun times, but it's always strange dancing in the daylight to start the day.

๐Ÿ‘€ Things I saw: Fun-loving, great friends, good musicians / an Eagle (I think), nice trails, lots of mosquitoes, sunset over the water, squirrels, White-eyed Vireo. I love the Merlin Bird ID app. ๐Ÿฆ…

๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿป‍♀️Trails I walked: Trinity Trace, Bakta, Hawthorn (2.9 mi) Would have been great for biking as well.  Pineywoods Boardwalk (1.0 mi) No bikes on boardwalk. Strollers would work on all of these but keep those babies protected from the skeeters! AllTrails is a great app.

๐Ÿฝ Where I ate: Brunch and light dinners at campers at J5 Show Barn, The Wet Deck on Lake Livingston (nice place with a view, but service was SLOW and food was just okay-not even going to put their website), camp breakfast @ Lake Livingston ๐Ÿณ

๐Ÿ“š What I learned: The generator will run the AC from 8 pm to 5:30 am on half a tank of gas. It's dang humid after rain storms! Mosquitoes don't care how much bug spray you apply. It's like perfume to those blood suckers! ๐ŸฆŸ

๐Ÿคฃ A laughable moment: With my group…always a lot of moments! ๐Ÿคช

๐Ÿ˜ฎ A surprising moment: A friend of mine went way out of his way to pick up my generator on the way. Bless his heart!  Thanks D! I danced a lot more than I expected. Made it back home in time for lunch with the family.

๐Ÿ™ƒ An unforeseeable moment:  We were supposed to stay at our regular spots in Indian Woods Campground in Hilltop Lakes, but the storm the night before knocked out power and they didn't know when it would come on. So, Richard and Tracy (owners of J5 Pasture Palace and good friends) let us dry camp at their show barn. If we had to go without hookups, we might as well be a whole lot closer!
