Camp Riverview 2024

๐ŸŒŠ Fun at the Frio ๐Ÿ‘™

The camper has been in the shop for over a month! Glad to be back on the road. Leg 2 of the summer Texas Hill Country trip. I left the Guadalupe River State Park and headed to Bandera. I love this town! ๐Ÿ’œ The rest of my crew was leaving from home and got delayed because we were getting LOTS of rain there. Mama reported 4" at the house!

I got gas and went to City Park to walk Pepper and hang out while we waited for them to arrive. It rained a little and it was nice to have the camper and a mifi. When everyone arrived in mid-afternoon, we went to eat at OST and then caravanned to the Frio. It was a nice trip and a relaxing time, but the river was the lowest that I've ever seen. We made the best of it though.

I left early on Sunday to make it home for my Daddy's 84th birthday. Some left, some stayed. The ones that stayed saw a few more inches of rain at the Frio when they were ready to leave. They sure needed it!

❓ Why I went: My third annual trip to the Frio

๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป Who I went with: Some of my dancin' and campin' group of friends

๐ŸŒž When I went: July 18-21 , 2024

✅ What I did: Meals at the Family Camp area - group breakfasts and suppers. Tacos, Chicken Spaghetti. Played Mexican Train and Joker & Pegs, hung out in the Frio

๐Ÿ‘€ What I saw: The full moon was gorgeous Friday and Saturday nights
๐Ÿฆ Wildlife I encountered: Squirrels, Woodpeckers, Wrens, Catfish, Crawfish

๐Ÿ“š What I learned: The river is terribly low. Even Major's Crossing was barely over the road.

๐Ÿคฃ A laughable moment: Mexican Train shenanigans ๐Ÿš‚

๐Ÿ˜ฎ A surprising moment: Sitting in the river for hours then all of a sudden the water level dropped by about 2 feet within 15-30 minutes!

๐Ÿ™ƒ An unforeseeable moment:  One of the crew left his hoses at home and I happened to have extra

๐Ÿ›️ My favorite souvenir: Photos

Outside the Park:

๐ŸธMet a friend at Gypsy Sally's. The bartenders made good Mexican Martinis. Big menu but it was between meal times so I didn't try out the food.
๐Ÿ‘€ Rode through Clearwater Ranch & Resort to look around. I used Fuel Rewards to get cheaper gas.
